Investigators!

This week was awesome!!! We had quite a few investigators at church which always makes for a good Sunday! Denise was there which was awesome. We have been working with her a lot this week. We actually found her moving another investigators table into Denise's house. We then just talked to Denise for a while and she told us to come back and she would love to learn more. She is such a sweet lady and she enjoyed church on Sunday. Doug was also there and he brought his brother Chris which was cool. Doug keeps bringing his family, its cool to see! He has 12 brothers and sisters so he has a lot of options. So this week has been pretty cold but it is warming up which i am super excited for. We also have general conference this week which i am sooooo excited for. I cant wait to hear from the apostles and prophets, the people we talk about everyday! We are also going to do a lot of finding this week with the warm weather coming up. We had transfer calls today and I am staying another six weeks here in Montgomery!!! I am I love it here, it is my home. I love the people! I am super excited for this coming week. Thanks for all your prayers and all your support. 

Spring is in the air!

This week was pretty awesome. It warmed up a couple days and we went out and did a lot of street contacting which is always super fun! Then it got cold again but its all good, spring is in the air! It was fun the other day we were visiting a less active and her boyfriend was talking about how fast he was. So we raced in the street! It was tight, I beat him of course but I think I pulled my hamstring. Right after that we ran into a lady coming out of the apartment. We invited her to church and her and her whole family came that Sunday! It was super cool. Apparently she is a member and her husband is not... so it was awesome to see them at church.  We had another miracle the other day as well...We came out of our dinner appointment and a lady yelled at us.  she told us she had been investigating the church for a long time but she never came to church because she didn't have clothes. She met up with a member the next day and they were able to get her some clothing for church.  She came to church on Sunday for the first time and she loved it!! Powerful!!

This week was awesome! Monday we went to Kentucky and played a bunch of games with half of the mission! It was super fun. Then on Wednesday we went to the Columbus Ohio temple with our zone. It was a powerful experience. The temple is so amazing and to get to go this past week was great. On Thursday we had a zone conference and we learned about the Book of Mormon and how to teach effectively with it. It was very powerful and I learned a lot. President Porter is a very inspired man and I really look up to him. We also had a meeting with President Porter and the stake President that night. Its so amazing to be around those inspired powerful men, and I was very blessed to be a part of that meeting. Then on Sunday we went to pick up Doug and invited his older brother as well. He came along and really enjoyed church. This week was great with many powerful experiences! Thanks for all your prayers and all your support.

Going to the Temple!

You alright? ha ha I am trying to sound like my cool brother Elder Hanks! Cheers! But anyways, I had a great week this week! We visited a less active member on Tuesday and we invited him out to come help us teach on Thursday. He came with us and really enjoyed it, he wanted to help out again. So he helped us again on Saturday, he is a great kid! Him and his less-active mother came to church on Sunday. He hasn't been to church in a very long time and it was super exciting to see him there. Jim was out of town this week but he actually went to church down in Memphis which is awesome, he is such a great guy and so solid. He will be receiving the priesthood on Sunday. We visited with him last Monday and talked about the temple with a member of our ward that actually works in the temple! It was a super powerful lesson! Speaking of temples, we get to go on Wednesday and I am super excited for that, it is going to be such an amazing experience. We also have a mission fun day today, we are getting together with 5 zones and playing games and having fun, I am stoked for that! You will have to check it out on our mission Facebook page! Relied on the Lord!

This week was so awesome! Jim got baptized on Saturday!  He is such a great guy and he was so prepared to hear the message. He told us that everything just made sense. He was catholic and the gospel just filled all the holes. For his baptism he asked me to give the talk on baptism. It went well. So many people were there that we had to move it to the chapel. There were over 100 people at his baptism! It was great. Then on Sunday church was canceled because of the ice rain! It was crazy. The bishop wanted to do the confirmation anyways so Jim and those he invited came to the church and he was confirmed a member. He is now working on going to the temple! This week was awesome and we are still working with Doug!  I love my new companion. The Lord is in charge and Jim came across a lot of opposition this past week but as he relied on the Lord and as we continued in prayer, a miracle happened and he was baptized! I am excited for another week in the Great Ohio. Love you and thanks for all the prayers and all the support.
